Professional Landscaping & Hardscape Design in Pine County, MN
Elliott’s Lawncare and Landscaping specializes in transforming ordinary outdoor areas into functional, high-value landscapes. With over three decades of experience serving East Central Minnesota, we understand that landscaping in our region requires more than just aesthetic appeal—it requires durability to withstand the Minnesota freeze-thaw cycle. From custom stonework to complete property renovations, we bring expert craftsmanship to every residential and commercial project in Pine City, Hinckley, and beyond.
We occasionally receive requests for unique and challenging projects. One such project was installing a paver patio in a courtyard surrounded by a building. There was no way for us to use our usual equipment. Everything had to be hauled in and out through a regular doorway. We were able to purchase carts to haul block in and rent motorized carts to haul material in. This project required us to think outside the box and was very rewarding to see through to completion.
Why Elliott’s is the Top-Rated Landscaper in Pine County
Choosing a local contractor means choosing someone who knows the local environment. We don’t just "install" plants; we ensure the soil is prepped, the drainage is corrected, and the materials are rated for our climate. Our 30-year reputation in the Pine County community is built on transparent pricing, heavy-duty equipment, and a finished product that exceeds expectations
Custom Hardscaping: Retaining Walls, Patios, and Walkways
Hardscaping is the backbone of a great landscape. We design and install structural elements that define your property while solving common drainage or slope issues. Our team is highly skilled in working with local materials and professional-grade pavers to create outdoor spaces that last.
- Retaining Wall Installation: We build engineered walls designed to hold back Minnesota’s heavy clay soils and prevent erosion.
- Paver Patios & Walkways: From rustic natural stone to modern interlocking pavers, we create custom outdoor living areas perfect for hosting and relaxing.
Shoreline Restoration: For properties along the Snake River or local lakes, we provide specialized landscaping to stabilize banks and improve waterfront access.
Landscape Design and Softscape Installation
A well-balanced landscape combines structural hardscaping with vibrant "softscaping"—the trees, shrubs, and mulch that bring a property to life. We select plant varieties that are native to Minnesota (Zone 3 and 4) to ensure your investment thrives throughout the seasons.
- Planting & Garden Bed Design: Strategic placement of perennials, shrubs, and privacy trees.
- Mulch & Rock Installation: refreshing your beds with high-quality cedar mulch or decorative river rock to suppress weeds and retain moisture.
- Therapeutic Ponds & Water Features: We design unique water features, including therapeutic ponds for animals and tranquil garden waterfalls.

Landscaping Frequently Asked Question (FAQs)
When is the best time to start a landscaping project in Minnesota?
While planning can happen year-round, installation typically begins in late April or early May once the frost has left the ground. We recommend booking your project in late winter or early spring to secure a spot on our seasonal schedule.
How long do paver patios and retaining walls last?
When installed with a proper compacted base and adequate drainage which is our standard at Elliott’s hardscape features can last 20 to 30 years or more. We specifically build to prevent the "shifting" often caused by Minnesota winters.
Do you offer free estimates for landscape design?
Yes. We provide on-site consultations throughout Pine County to evaluate your terrain, discuss your vision, and provide a detailed estimate for the project.
